Here is my Coffee Striped Card for the CTS #216 challenge. http://casethissketch.blogspot.com/ Here is the link to check out all the wonderful designers inspiration. I love stripes as I have mentioned before. Again those who know me would be surprised I don’t actually have on a striped top at the moment.

Instead of doing your traditional striped design I decided to do a little something different and played around with a coffee cup die from Simon Says Stamp. I think the die is from last year. So instead of die cutting I ran it though my Big Shot and created a large stripe pattern all across the brown card stock. I have had my rubber embossing mat for ages and hardly ever use it. I am happy with the look. I may keep it handy and use it more often.
I cannot get enough of the coffee themed cards. I love to drink it so why not. I did a similar technique with the new die from the recent February Simon Says card kit too. The one with the arms holding a heart. I love that die too. You can check out my pin board via the home menu to check out that and other designs.
The sentiment was also from the card kit and is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink. I also used Vintage Photo Distress ink on the background cups and the sentiment strip. Used a paper ribbon ruffle to dress up the sentiment strip. The ribbons are so easy to make and a nice way to use up scraps. The sentiment is pop up on foam squares. Then I topped it off with a few orange sequins and a bit of Wink of Stella on the hearts.
Tip: To make the paper ribbon you role it both ways like you are curling ribbon. Do a little bit of crumbling to break down the fibers. Then I used the spritzer to dampen it lightly with water and crumble a little more to break it down more and then the paper becomes pliable. Then shape it to resemble the ribbon ruffle Let it dry some. That is all there is to it!
Thanks again for stopping by.
Enjoy ~Pat
