It’s time to Party!

Hi everyone, I am back with a colorful card design for the Color Throw Down Challenge # 439. I have run out of birthday cards and need to make a few to have on hand. This one will work nicely for a few birthdays coming up in the near future.

The card background was stamped with embossing ink then white heat embossed with a cute little martini glass stamp. I picked up this rubber stamp at the Paper Source store quite some time ago and was happy to pull it out of my stash to finally use it. I then did some ink blending with distress inks. (Festive berries, Spiced marmalade, Mustard seed and Milled lavender).

The stamped sentiment is done with Versafine Onyx Black ink. This is one of my go to inks for sentiments. The other would be Rangers Jet Black Archival ink. The sentiment stamp is from Concord & 9ths -Eat Cake & Celebrate stamp set. This set also has a matching coordinating die set, that you can  purchase separately, for the cake and candle images as well as the Happy Birthday sentiment.  I love having stamps with coordinating dies. There are cupcakes, candles, a tiered cake on a stand, and other sweet treats you can use for either either donuts or macaroons that are stacked high on a plate. The sentiments are versatile too. So cute and fun. You really can do a lot with this set. Check back soon for more card designs with this set in the near future.

The last steps were to create a frame with stitched rectangle dies from Simon Says Stamp that I used to define the focal point space. I layered two cut from white card stock then pop it up on foam tape. And of course I had to then topped off the card with a few orange and yellow sequins.

Here is the CTD #439 challenge link. Be sure to check out the designers  inspiration cards. They are all so very talented. It is also a lot of fun visiting the gallery too. There is always an abundance of inspiration!
