Have a Happy Day

Have A Happy Day card for the Color Throw Down Challenge #440.

Here is a card that I made earlier today. I used a very old stamp and stencil set that is actually brand new as I never used it. I am really trying to make an effort to use products from my stash. Helps to justify the purchasing… if you know what I mean.

The set is a recollections set. I used just the leafy vine part of the stencil and the flowers from the stamps. At the time I bought it I thought the stencil was something I would use as I was in need of some leafy vines and then never used it. On to the ingredients and the card.

I used The following inks: Memento pear tart, SSS hybrid inks in duckling yellow, hot mama and hollyhock. I was going to make a flat one layer card but when I was done with the stencil and stamping of the flowers it was just to “un-dementional”. I just made that word up. Really it looked to bland. So I stamped the purple flower again and fussy cut it out to pop it up over the original on the card front.
I had trimmed the card front down. Put a strip of black and white washi tape on the side of the card base then place the card front flat on the base.

I used some silver Wink of Stella for the flower centers and stamped the sentiment in Versa Fine Black Onyx ink. I pop this up as well and realized it was lost so I used a little clear Wink of Stella around all the edges to give it a little subtle definition. I don’t know if you can really see it well in the photo but it really does show up in person.

All in all I am happy with the outcome and think it fits nicely for the challenge. It will work well as a Birthday card or if you just want to send someone some “Happy Mail”.
