Here is a card I made today for the Shopping Our Stash – SOS #303 Project runway challenge. Which is to use fabric on the card design. Well I wasn’t sure what I was going to do. Yet again a very timely theme for me. Talk about shopping the stash. These fabric flowers were in a very old kit that I found the other day when I was organizing a craft draw. I had actually had them in a bag for “the Yard Sale”. If you know what I mean.. the one that never happens. On with the card design and ingredients.
Anyway the kit is something from Crayola that I bought for my granddaughter several years ago. There were several flowers, buttons and attachment thingys. Here is a look at the kit and some of it’s contents. There were a few pieces left so I put them in my stash way back then. When I saw this weeks theme I thought they would be perfect so I pulled them out of the yard sale bag. .
This was a very easy card to make. Since the fabric flowers were already cut out for me. I used an aqua card stock for the card front panel. A flower stencil from The Crafters Workshop and used just some Versamark ink for a watermark look. I love the tone on tone effect. This was glued to a white card base. The flowers all have holes in the middle so I created a spinner and the flower can be turned if you wish. I was going to put a Thank you under one of the petals but then decided to put it on the inside. So I could glue it down so it doesn’t spin but I just left it. I layered up 3 of the flowers and topped it off with a white enamel dot. The sentiment is from MFT springtime blooms flower stamp set stamped in Versafine black onyx ink.
I had so much fun making it wild prints and all. I can’t wait to use the few flowers and buttons that are left over on some future cards. No more yard sale for these fabric flowers.
Thanks for stopping by and make sure to check out the challenge the designers have some great inspiration to share.
