Summer Coffee Card

OMG. I cannot believe I almost missed the summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I don’t know where my head has been this week. You might not know it but I have a thing for the coffee theme. I struggle to create much else. All kidding aside this is a great event. They have so many super sponsors with some really great prizes. Really the gallery viewing is a prize in itself with hundreds of cards to admire and get inspiration from. Love it! Well on with my summer themed coffee card design and ingredients.

I build it from the ground up. Started with a pretty patterned paper with tropical plants and flowers from a 6×6 My Mind’s Eye DSP pad. Stamped white card base with palm tree wood block stamp from the Paper Source in Color box pigment ink in Ocean and Coral. Stamped the coconuts.. umm I mean coffee beans in Memento rich cocoa that I stamped off once on some scratch paper so it wasn’t so intense. The bean stamp is from Lawn Fawn’s Love you a Latte. The coffee cup and lid was and MFT die that was die cut from the same paper pack. I crimped the sleeve. All three layers including the top one with the sentiment that was from the MFT Perk Up set. Used Multi Matte Medium to glue the cup parts together then popped it all up with foam tape. Oh I forgot to mention I used some clear Wink of Stella on the coffee beans, the cup lid and sleeve. Added a few brown sequins. Lastly I used a clear plastic tube that I cut in half and tucked it behind the top of the cup tacked it down with a glue dot behind the cup and a very very tiny amount Glossy Accents along the cut edge in a few spots.

Hope you like this cheery tropical summer card. This can be an ice coffee. Or if you are like me…I have several of the Starbucks green plastic take out cups with lids that I use for ice water and I tuck a straw through the lid. My husband teases and calls it my sippy cup.
