SSS August – You + Me Stamp plus Distress Ink Rainbow
I love rainbows in the sky and on paper. I haven’t done a card with a rainbow color theme in a while so I thought I would today. This one was really fun to make from the rainbow focal point to the splattered border. I am shocked I didn’t get the inks all over me. I used a TIP I had seen others doing. I used strip of post it tape on my finger tips to hold down the panel while I was sponging the distress inks onto the paper. I also have a decent size box with an attached lid that I use for spritzing and splattering. I keep about 10 -12 piece of copy paper in the bottom and just lift out the dirty one each time I use it. I will be entering this one into 3 challenges noted below. On with the design and ingredients.
Started out creating a distress ink panel that was first stamped with the border stamps from the SSS August card kit using Versamark ink. I wanted a rough imperfect pattern similar to an embossing paste technique that you see on a mix media project only done with white heat embossing. A few lines are complete but then I put small squares of post it tape down in random spots so the full line would not be inked. Also dusted off some of the embossing powder in areas before heating.
I then created the rainbow by sponging distress inks over the lines. Used damp baby wipe to clean off the white lines. This panel was cut with a double stitched SSS rectangle die.
The sentiment is from the SSS August card kit stamp set. Stamped in black ink and covered in Clear Wink of Stella.
Both panels have a black card stock border.
The card base was splattered with Distress ink in Black Soot. Just mixed two drops of water with some ink on a clear block and flicked it all around.
The panels were popped up on black fun foam. The final touch was a few black enamel dots.
