Hello Everyone.
I have a fun Halloween card to share that I made for a few challenges. The AAA CAS game was having a fun film inspired theme..No peaking. I am sure you can guess the movie that was my inspiration. See below for the answer. ;0) . I also used the sketch from CTS#243 and will submit it to one other challenge it is fitting for that is the PP#366.
This was such fun to make. It is the first time I did a gloomy sky using the galaxy sky technique, I just didn’t use any splatters of white. Well on with the card design hope you like it and let me know if you are able to guess the movie.
I started with an A2 top folded card. I wanted a grungy, distressed, imperfect looking spiderweb so I used black soot distress ink on an embossing folder to stamp the design as I knew it wouldn’t pick up that much ink like a stamp would. I glued a strip of black card stock.
Then created the gloomy sky back drop on a panel cut from a Sizzix die. I used Zigg Clean Color markers in orange, green and purple. Just slopped in patches. Let it dry and covered it in black soot distress ink.
I did some masking for the witch hat on the craft bird stamp. I fussy cut the bird. I placed the bird on the panel and then stamped a few birds in Versamark ink flying overhead. These were from the SSS Sea You Soon stamp set. After I did I realized I could have just drew them in with a water mark pen.
I was going for an overall black and white palette as the movie I chose for my inspiration was done in black and white. It was an old classic thriller. Have you guessed yet?
I did add on a pop of color by adding the pumpkin to finish of the card.
Stamps: Tim Holtz Crazy Birds and the accessory stamp set.
Inks: Zigg Clean Color Markers, Black soot distress ink, Versafine Onyx black and Versamark.
Make sure to check out the Challenge blogs for more fun and inspiration.

Love your Halloween card – that background behind the owl is gorgeous! I didn’t guess The Birds – all I could think of ‘Trick or Treat’ because of the sentiment, but suspected that it wasn’t THAT obvious! Thanks for playing along with us at AAA Cards.
