Happy Birthday Card using ink blending ghosting technique

Hello Everyone,

I am back with a Birthday card to share that I made for the AAA #102 ink blending challenge and Seize the Birthday Kraft card challenge. Hope you like it. Let get to it.

I started with some Neenah desert storm and did some ink blending off centered over white using a Hero Arts stencil for the back ground. I used Picked Raspberry, Cracked Pistashio and Shabby Shutter distress inks over Hero Arts unicorn pigment ink. Cut the panel with a SSS stitched rectangle die.
I stamped the cupcake in Versafine as well as the sentiment. The sentiment is from the SSS September card kit. After doing the sentiment I realized the sentiment was lost so I re-stamped it and fussy cut it out as well as a black border and glued it down over the original one.

The cupcake stamp is from an old set…really old. I cannot say for sure but I think it is a Fiskars set. I then cut a cherry from some pink glitter paper and glued it on then covered it with Nuvo Jewel drops in strawberry coulis. I also fussy cut some black card stock to cover the cup cake liner. I used a gel pen in black to outline the frosting and cherry stem. I first colored the sprinkles in with white pastel gel pen then went over a few in various colored gel pens. Topped off the sprinkles with some Wink of Stella, Glossy Accents  and added some white gel pen lines to the cupcake liner.

Glued the panel to a black panel and then to a white Neenah 110# top folding card base.

Be sure to check out the challenge blogs for more fun and inspiration.

  1. Lovely background that really makes an impact on this card. Nice save for the sentiment. Thanks for sharing with us at Seize the Birthday.
