Joy to You

Hello Everyone,
Hope you are all having a good week. It is getting cold now and that helps get me in the mood for creating holiday cards and tags. Here is one I made for this weeks CTS #247 Challenge. I am not sure there is a name to the technique but I did a little rubber stamp two color inking for the leaves.  On with the card design.

The stamps and dies are all from Hero Arts. The large holly leaves and berries is a rubber stamp and the small sprigs and single berries as well as the Joy die cut are from a clear stamp and cut set.
It is an A2 top folded card. Masked off the top and stamped the large holly leaves in a random pattern. I used SSS hybrid inks in Catkin and Willow on the edges of the leaves. The berries are Holyhock. I used the same inks for the small element to fill in the empty spaces.

The rest is just cutting the sentiment panels and die cutting the word Joy from red card stock that was glued to two white layers for just a bit of dimension..

The finishing touch was a half of a white doily for under the bottom of the sentiment panel.

If your aware of a specific name to the shading technique let me know. I have heard some call it rocking and rolling or kissing technique. But this was just a dab around the edges with the darker color. Really that might be all it is.

Be sue to check out the challenge blog for more fun and inspiration.

Thanks so much for stopping by and as always I appreciate your kind words.

Enjoy ~ Pat
