Hello Everyone,
I have been crafting my stash today!
So earlier in the week someone in one of my FB stamping groups suggested we all make a card with an old set and share it. At the time I thought this is great. I have some nice sets I have never used. Was going to go to town making all kinds then….you know…life gets in the way…also realized oops….I need to make a special card for my daughter’s birthday..
I know I am not the only card maker who has several cards made but not the right one for that event that sneaks up on you…right. So I guess you could say I am like the mechanic with the broken car in the driveway. Lucky for me I have supplies to choose from to whip up a card quickly. I am happy to report I did get a card made for her birthday but didn’t get a photo to share that one now. I am sharing a different card made from an old stamp set.
I wanted to have a Valentine card made for my hubby and didn’t want it to be last minute so I spent my crafting time making a card for him. It is fitting for the CAS on Friday – Love/Valentines theme challenge #124 and I will also share with the FB group because this set is an old SU set from I think….2014. On with the card design.
Design and Ingredient.
Paper: Front is MFT sweet tooth. Base is Neenah 110# solar white. Heart is Bristol smooth.
Ink and coloring: Versafine Onyx black, Pure Pink Zigg marker, Black Tombow marker, Arteza water color pencils in Alizarin red, Burgundy and Magenta.
Stamps: SU Language of Love and Arrow from a recollection set from last year.
Dies: MFT heart from stacking set and Heart confetti from blue print 6 tag set.
Other: Clear Wink of Stella.
Stamped 3 rows for hearts and colored an ombré pinky red to purple pattern from left to right.
Created a watercolor panel by ink swooshing. Once dried I die cut the heart. To added more intense color and some texture I then went over the panel directly with the water color pencil around the border of the heart and made some swirly patterns and used an aqua brush to blend it slightly. Used the Zigg marker around the cut edge for a finished look. The language heart and arrow were fuzzy cut. Used the Tombow marker around the heart for a finish look. The confetti hearts are cut from the watercolor panel.
The heart is pop up on foam squares. Used Wink of Stella on the rows of hearts, the confetti hearts and over the squiggly lines on pink heart border. The inside is a stamp from the recollection set that says “you have my heart”.
