Hello Everyone,
Sharing a card I made using the SSS February card kit – A Colorful Crafty Life. This kit is jam packed with some fun papers, stamps and embellishments as well as tools like glue and scissors too.
For this card I went with a sewing theme as I really wanted to use the wood veneers to create a lot of dimension by layering them up along with the papers.
On with the card design and ingredients.
Fairly easy design using the patterned papers and stamped sentiment in Versafine Onyx black ink.
Card Base is an A2 top folded Neenah 110# white that I sponged with antique linen distress ink.
I used two SSS stitched rectangles, one for the sentiment panel and the other for a patterned paper panel. This rectangle wasn’t long enough so I did extend it some by doing the partial die cutting on one end and moving the die down to the length I was looking for and then did the same partial die cutting on that end too. Also used a Sizzix die for the decorative scalloped circle.
You may not be able to see it but on the top and bottom I stamped in Versamark ink the stitched lines in a straight and curvy line pattern. It is a very subtle watermark.
I also used this fusible ruffle that I cut down to a bit from about 1 inch to 3/4 inches. Too be honest it was much more effort than expected and some spots didn’t stick and I still had to use a bit of glue but the color is perfect and it does have a bit of a stitched appearance which is what I was going for.
After assembling and gluing all the panels and embellishments I added a few SSS moonshine confetti sequins and some Wink of Stella on the wood veneers. The top of the card was feeling kind of bare so I added some pink twine around the top and tie it to the scissors handle to have it appear like they are hanging down and ready for use.
Hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by and as always I appreciate your kind comments.
