Happy Forever Friend

Hello Everyone,
Sharing a card I made for Sip #139 Ribbon challenge, PP#383 Spring Has Sprung and both SSS Monday – In My Garden and Wednesday – Anything Goes.

I used the March SSS kit for this one. I am calling it a messy plaid with some pretty flowers. The details about this are below. On with the design and ingredients.

The March SSS stamp set card kit has two stamp sets and lots of other goodies too. The set used for this card was The Showers & Flowers stamp set. I used Bristol smooth card for the front panel and stamped the plaid in the peeled paint Oxide ink. It took 3 stamps to cover the bottom of the panel. Not paying attention on the last stamp I placed it down incorrectly and the plaid didn’t match up or come out right as there were too many blank spaces on that side. So…I just turned the stamp and re-stamped over the all three sections. It’s not the intended plaid but I am fine with it. I then stamped the long border strip in the same ink.

I masked of the bottom to stamp the top flower and leaf section with Versafine Onyx black ink. These were water colored with DIstress Oxide inks in fossilized amber, worn lipstick and regular Distress inks in festive berries and antique linen. The background was done in a light wash with Distress Oxide in broken china.

The sentiment is stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink. Lastly I made a bow out of tan raffia ribbon.

Be sure to check out the challenge blogs for more fun and inspiration.

  1. I really love how this card turned out! I think it was such a great technique to create your own patterns with stamps. And even though the plaid didn’t go as planned, I think the end result is perfect! This makes me excited for spring and I love how it would be so perfect for so many different people to receive. Very pretty and very inspiring and I’m so glad you shared your talent with us for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
