Happiness is Good Coffee with a Friend

Hi Everyone,

I have been off line for a bit due to recent trip planning and a getaway to the Pocono’s. Wonderful time. Very pretty scenery. Glad to be back and in my craft room again.

I got to make another card with one of the prizes from Stampendous I received from the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop this year. I had made the same card in a different type color scheme and just loved it so I thought I would make another.

I will include the first one too so you can see that one as well. I have already mailed it off to a swap partner. This one here will go out to one of my local coffee friends for an invite to a Saturday coffee and cards get together. On with card design and ingredients.

I stamped the cup in Versafine Onyx black ink and then I used the same mask made for the first card. I then used a second masked made with masking tape in the shape of a plus sign to make the corner masks and just moved it appropriately to get even blocks in each corner. Also made sure to use the same masked edge for the right color in each corner by rotating the masking tape plus sign/cross.

The corners are lightly sponged with Distress inks in Antique Linen and Tea Dye. The cup is colored with Prisma Colored pencils in mostly true green and just a hint of grass green for shading and blended with Gamsol. The dots on the cup are just dotted with a small amount of Copic opaque white using a very small brush. The steam hearts are from the Neat & Tangled Perfect Blend stamp set. This was stamped in white and also painted over with the Copic opaque white.

Here is the first card i made.

The second card I made is the one for the Monday and Wednesday SSS challenge.

Be sure to check out the challenge blogs for more fun and inspiration.

Thanks so much for stopping by and as always I appreciate your kind comments.

Would love to hear which of two color combinations is your favorite or if you might have another favorite you would try.

Enjoy ~ Pat

  1. I really like the way you quartered your background – really sets off your main image perfectly! Thank you for playing with us at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge!
