Fishing You a Happy Birthday

Hi Everyone,

I have been playing with the new Simon Says Stamp (SSS) July kit called One Cool Pineapple. I have to say it is another one of my favorites. I love the stamps, papers, cute flamingo die and all the stickers.

I don’t generally us too many stickers in my projects but these are so cute I definitely will be using them in some up and coming cards. For this one I went with a fish theme. On with the design and ingredients.

I started with some Canson Watercolor paper and created a panel using broken china distress ink for the water. This is a combination of a wash and some ink smooshing. Once dry I die cut it with the MFT stitched whimsical waves die.

The other panels are a mix of squeezed lemonade distress oxide and mustard seed and wild honey distress inks. This is a bit of sponging as well as pouncing a small sponge with the darker colors too. The sentiment and sun are stamped in Versafine Onyx black ink. The sun is die cut with a stitched circle from MFT tag builder blue prints 6 set.

The fish are stamped in  Versamark and heat embossed in white. They are colored with an orange Zigg brush marker. They are fussy cut.

The stamps are from the kit except for the little fish they are from another set from Sweet Stamp Shops reel it in set.

The larger fish and sun are popped up on foam squares. I used a little wink of Stella on the fish and added a few SSS confetti sequins.

This is for the following challenges.  Be sure to check out the challenge blogs for more fun and inspiration.

  2. Such a fun card. Love your ink smooshing and blending panels. They make a perfect background for the cute fish and sun.
