The Witch is In.

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all are having a good week. Had time tonight to put together this clean and simple Halloween card. I tend to shy away from all that white space but saw this broom and wanted to create a design fitting the CAS #290 challenge this week. The CAS challenge is always a fun one. I like it because it makes me think outside of the box and many times I have learned something new. I haven’t played along in awhile. I hope to be able to now that summer is over.  I kind of like it and hope you do too. On with the design and ingredients.

I used an old set from my stash that is from Hampton Arts for the broom and sentiment. The Hat is from Art Impressions. I first stamped the 3 brooms using these new inks to me. The purple and orange are from Taylored expressions (eggplant and sweet potato pie)and the green is Lime Rickey from Catherine Pooler. I am getting hungry just talking about them..I really like them both. I will have to get more colors now. They are bright and vivid and cover nice with one stamping.

Then I colored the brooms with Prisma colored pencils in like colors using 3 different hues of each color to get some color variation and shading. I then stamped the hat and masked it off to stamp the sentiment. Turns out I really didn’t need to mask as just the top of the punctuation touch upon it.

The hat is colored in grays and black as well as a bit of green for belt strip around it.

Lastly I used a silver gel pen to outline the buckle on the hat.

Be sure to check out the challenge blog for more fun and inspiration.
