Happy Halloween Card and a Short Tale of a Budding Card Maker.

Hi Everyone,

It’s the end of the weekend and I planned to get several cards made but only had time for a few.

I had my 3 year old grandson today for a little while and let him play for the first time in my craft room. He had fun making a ghost Halloween card that was his hand print upside down. He colored the eyes and mouth then glued on circles for the eyes. Stamped the boo sentiment over and over and over on the inside. Then he wanted to use some washi tape. It was skulls with the cross bones. He said he wanted to use this one because he liked pirates. So there were several pieces of torn washi tape added over and over again to the back of the card. He diligently added apiece to every finger. I tied a piece of black bakers twine on it so he could fly it like a ghost. He (We) had a blast. It definitely was worth not getting cards done to see him enjoying the creative process. Loved watching those little fingers working so hard as he sat at my craft station. Could be another card designer in the family in the works. Time will tell.   

I have one more card to share for today. It’s another Halloween card. On with the design and ingredients. 

I just can’t get enough of the orange, purple and green colors. I had a small piece of a distressed panel left from a couple of other cards and couldn’t let it go to waste so pulled together this card with various layers of Halloween patterned papers.

It is a black A2 size card in a top folded landscape orientation. 

The focal panel is sponged in peeled paint, wilted violet and faded jeans distress ink. This was cut with a SSS stitched rectangle. I used a little watered down gray marker from Marvy wash on the ghost. Versafine Onyx black ink was used for the stamping.

Stamps and Dies: Taylored Expressions – The ghost and bat are from the /Cutting edge ghosts set and the fence and moon are from the Build a Scene Calendar set. The sentiment is from a Hero arts stamp and cut Happy Halloween set. 

I used a few coordinating enamel dots and a star puffy sticker to finish it off.
