Cute Holiday Truck Card

Hello Everyone.

Stopping in quick to share this card made with this cute set from a craft magazine. Despite the packaging being mysteriously wet all products were fine and nothing got damaged. The short story about this is also below. On with the design and ingredients.

Inks: Versafine Onyx black, Gina K in pine needle and Archival in Garden Patina.

Products from the magazine: Truck die, tree die, Embossing folder and stamp.

Paper: Jade card stock and Neenah 110# white.

Small plaid stamp from SSS Choose Joy set. Used this to creat the plaid background on the jade card stock.

The plaid panel is glued flat to an A2 top folded landscape style card base. The embossed panel is popped up on foam tape. The truck and tree are popped up on foam squares.

Now here’s the puzzling short story.

The Truck Die Got Me! I don’t usually buy theses but the “Q” got me this time. You know the dreaded “Q” products positioned at check out. Designed to catch your eye for the last minute impulse buy while you are waiting to pay. Ok I admit it I indulged and bought a craft magazine because of the cute little truck die.

But that isn’t the story. Something odd happened when I opened it. The package was sealed. The inner pack with the surprises was sealed. This had a couple of dies, a stamp set and an embossing folder. The magazine had a package of patterned paper. Here is the mystery. The inner package with the stamps, die and folder were soaking wet. Yet the magazine and papers in the outer package were fine. No sign of being wet at all. The stamps were like a milky white.

I dried everything off overnight and the stamps are mostly a clear color. I guess they were water logged. All items appear to be in new usable condition now. The photo probably doesn’t show how wet they were. But the paper basically just disintegrated. Anyway all is good as I have used them and they are great. Here is a photo of the package.
