One Stitch at a Time Quilt Card -National Quilting Day 3.21.20

Hello Everyone. Hope you are all well. I am still making note cards to send as either encouragement or thinking of you. Everyone love getting a card or a note in the mail. I think it is even more true now with the current world situation.

This post is a little late as National Quilting Day was yesterday and this design is inspired by several of my family members who are incredible quilters. I have a DIL and 2 sisters that I am in awe of with there amazing designs and quilting skills.

I will be sharing two cards this is one, that was inspired by a challenge that I will be linking this card to, and a bonus card. The challenge details are below.

On with the design and ingredients.

The card is design is intended to be an encouragement card…kinda like take it one day at a time…instead it is one stitch at a time.

Ingredients:

Paper: Neenah 80# white, Pale yellow, Black and apple green card stock.

Ink/coloring medium: Versafine Onyx black, Versamark, Arteza watercolor pencils and Dandilion Paint Co. Liquid watercolor for the splatters.

Stamps: Spellbinders – #handmade.

Dies: MFT stitched ric rac, MFT stitch flowers, MFT buttons. Neat and Tangle scallop dies, Darice nested squares and Gina Marie cover plate.

Embellishments: Clear embossing powder and Linen Cord.

The colorful photo from the challenge inspired the above colorful card design. The second card is a bonus card as I had stamped the quilt square twice so why not make another design.

I am sure the quilt block has a design name and I know my quilting family members probably know it but sorry to say I do not. Either way it makes a pretty card and I could see it would be lovely adorning a bed somewhere too.

BONUS CARD

Similar design. I Used Distress Oxides for background and the heart. I outlined the quilt block with a gold gel pen and added gold gel pen dots all over the background. Added some Nuvo Crystal glaze to the heart.

Be sure to check out the challenge blog for more fun and inspiration.

  1. It has been a while since I made a quilt and I just love this card! The colors are perfect for spring. 😁

One stitch at a time is a good motto these days!
