Hello Everyone. Hope you are all well. I am keeping myself entertained by making cards to send to friends and family. I am still working as I have been a remote work from home employee for many years now. I do find I have a bit more time in my craft room as I cannot get out to shop or visit with family and friend. Thankfully the craft room is my happy place and creating and making cards helps keep some of the stressors away. I hope you all are getting to do some things you enjoy as well.
Sharing another encouragement card and will be linking it to the challenges below.
This one is mostly die cuts with a bit of light stenciling in the background.
I don’t know if you are anything like me but it takes me so long to decide on placement even down to where I want the extra little dots for embellishments to go.
Believe me the struggle is real… So when l am finally happy with it I don’t want to mess it up. A favorite tip I learned was a game changer for me. It is the Press and Seal method that Jennifer McGuire shared a few years back. Picture and more details on this below. On with the design and ingredients.
The Press and Seal keeps it all in place nicely. You just flip it add your adhesive and place it back down on the card front. So easy even compared to how I had done it previously. I had been using cell phone picture to recreate placement but this method really is so much quicker and easier.
Ingredients:
Paper: Neenah 110# white card base. White card stock from my stash. 3 different blue card stocks and a gray card stock.
Ink/coloring medium: Versafine Onyx black ink. Distress inks in broken china, cracked pistachio and iced spruce. Broken china for the stenciled background. Used the others to darken up the colored card stock in places.
Stamps: Sentiment is from Mama Elephant – mini everyday sentiments.
Dies: Altenew layered rose die set, Spell binders least on stems, Taylored Expressions Build a Tag 1, Sunny Studios Frilly Frame stripe die. (Without the frilly frame). Mft sending die.
Stencil: MFT mini staggered circles.
Embellishments: Sea Breeze Nuvo Jewel Drops. Some plain and some placed over a colored pencil dot for a dark blue effect.
