Hello Everyone. Hope you are all well and enjoying the spring weather. The temps here have been really spring like for a change. It might be what inspired this design.
Sharing this recent card and will be linking it to the challenges below.
On with the design and ingredients.
I started by creating the rainbow panel by masking of sections of the panel with post it note tape. I used the Picket Fence blender brushes over each section one at a time. Moving the tape to create varied size stripes. Making sure to use a clean edge of the tape on each pass.
Stenciled the butterflies over the panel with some Hero Arts unicorn ink.
The butterfly is a white die cut with wilted violet sponged around the edge with another die cut in vellum over it and a few clear rhinestone gems used for the body. I used glossy accents to adhere the stones and the vellum butterfly cut to the white one.
Ingredients:
Paper: Neenah 110# white and 80# white.
Ink/coloring medium: Versafine Onyx black ink, Distress Oxides in Shaded lilac, Wilted violet, Mowed lawn, Squeezed lemonade, Ripe persimmons, Festive Berries and Hero Arts unicorn pigment ink.
Stamps: Pinkfresh – enchanted blooms and MFT – fly by friends.
Dies: Memory Box – Terrace butterfly and MFT diagonal banner dies.
Stencil: SSS butterfly stencil from the April 2018 kit
Embellishments: Clear gem stones and 3 coordinating colored gem stones.
Note to self. WAIT UNTIL THE INK IS DRY!
A little confession here… my impatience got the best of me and almost ruined the card.Smudged the sentiment when adding foam tape to the back of the panel. But I think it was an ok save if I do say so myself. I could have probably left it but I kind of like the added element. . See photo below of the before.
