Pretty Thinking of You Card – Kissing Technique

Hello Everyone. Hope you are all well and enjoying the weekend.

I am back to making encouragement cards this weekend. I have mailed out most that I have made and need several more. For this one I tried an old technique and played with some new products.

I am sharing this this one that I will be linking it to the challenges below.

On with the design and ingredients.

Ingredients:

Paper: Neenah 80# and 110# and a scrap of vellum.

Ink/coloring medium: Archival in forget me not. Distress ink in Peacock Feathers and Distress oxide in Iced spruce, fossilized amber, broken china and a versa mark pen.

Stamps: Hero arts woodgrain background stamp, Tailored Expressions Foliage background stamp. Altenew Fabulous forest stamps and matching dies. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp messages for everyday.

Dies: Waffle Flower sprigs die.

Embellishments: Gold gel pen and Stampendous champagne embossing powder.

The kissing technique for the background I had seen and tried several years back and recently saw someone on Pinterest (sorry I could not locate a link to a blog but her name is Noriko Fairchild and I believe her  IG tag line is #FloushingCreationsbyNorido) do this similar background in a different color using the TE foliage stamp with a sentiment within the circle focal point. I hope you check her out her designs are beautiful.

For the background I did the kissing technique and I used the TE foliage stamp face up and applied the broken china and then used the Hero arts woodgrain stamp to lift off some of the ink by pressing it directly on top of the foliage stamp.

I stamped this onto a card front. Once dry I used the embossing ink pen and went over several spots on the leaves and heat embossed using the Stampendous champagne embossing powder.

The bonus here is I then took the Hero Arts stamp and stamped it onto a panel and now have another interesting background to use later.

The flowers and leaves were stamped using the Distress Oxides in iced spruce and Distress ink in peacock feathers and colored using an aqua brush.

I lightly sponged some of the iced spruce into the circle opening behind the flower focal point. Sponged a strip of paper to use of the sentiment and stamped it in the Archival forget me knot ink.

The flower and the sentiment are popped up on foam tape.
